MTC is proud to announce the addition of a cutting-edge engineering seismograph system to our suite of geotechnical tools. This investment enables us to perform Multi Channel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) and Seismic Refraction Testing in house, allowing for detailed subsurface imaging without the need for intrusive drilling. Using geophones and a seismic source, we can now evaluate soil and rock layers with precision. Applications of this versatile tool range from identifying voids, subsurface mapping, and determining shear wave velocity for seismic site classification with applications in both the geotechnical and environmental industries.
This investment also enhances our ability to conduct borehole geophysical testing, including Seismic Downhole (ASTM D7400) and Cross Hole Testing (ASTM D4428) without needing to partner with a specialty subcontractor.
