Service Provided: The scope of work included masonry sampling of grout and mortar, along with visual inspections conducted in the field. Structural steel and recast concrete were inspected, focusing on bolts and welds. The subgrade foundation and pavement underwent inspection with in-place density testing performed. Engineered fill and backfill were tested for maximum density, and borrow materials were sampled for gradation analysis.
Project Description: The construction included renovation of the existing two-story, approximately 16,200 sf Hilberry (Valade) Theatre, a new two-story, approximately 53,500 sf addition (Gateway Theater) to the south of the existing building, a new 40 space asphalt parking lot west of the addition, removal and installation of underground utilities, new concrete curbs and sidewalks, and other site improvements. Renovations to the existing building included foundations for a new entrance with an ADA lift. The new ADA lift required new masonry walls, modification of an existing masonry wall, and a new metal roof system.
