Our in-house geotechnical soil testing laboratory and construction materials testing laboratory have been proficient in providing results for over 50 years. We know you need to keep your project on schedule and precise and valid test results are our top priority. Upon receiving test results, we can also provide follow-up environmental consulting or other geotechnical services.

Laboratory Services FAQs

Using an AASHTO-accredited laboratory ensures that testing is performed in accordance with nationally recognized standards for accuracy and consistency. This means that results you can trust for design, compliance, and quality control. It also helps meet project specifications, reduces risk, and provides confidence that materials will perform as intended in the field 

  • Soil density test results are typically available on the same day, as they are performed in the field to confirm proper compaction. 
  • Concrete compression test results are reported at specific intervals—commonly after 7 days and 28 days curing—to evaluate strength gain over time.  

Common laboratory tests include moisture content, grain size analysis, Atterberg limits, and Proctor compaction testing. Depending on the project, additional testing such as shear strength, consolidation, or permeability may be performed to better understand how the soil will behave under load and over time. 

Yes, MTC can perform trial batching to evaluate and refine custom concrete mix designs before they are used in the field. This process allows for adjustments to meet specific performance requirements such as strength, workability, durability, or set time—helping ensure the mix performs as expected once placed on the jobsite.
